February 2026 Update - On to the Printers!
about 1 month ago – Sat, Feb 21, 2026 at 05:23:57 PM

The next digital update will include the "Rules of Negotiation" Depik supplement and the digital art book. However, the really exciting news is that the files are being processed at the printer!

We'll order the physical proofs this week when they are ready, and if they pass muster, we'll put in the order for the print copies. While we don't know the exact time frame yet for a bulk order (plus I don't want to jinx things before we see the physical proofs), we'll let you know once we know the timeframe. This long, winding journey has nearly reached its end!

Fulfillment Begins!

Lock and Load!

We've started fulfillment. All backers who pledged at least enough to receive the PDF should have received an email with a coupon code to download their copy from DriveThru RPG.

If you haven't received an email, check your spam and junk folders. A few people mentioned not receiving the email only to find it there. Also make sure you're checking the email that you backed the Kickstarter under. If you're like me, you have multiple emails. Finally, if you haven't received an email by Monday, reach out to Mark ampersand worldmaker dot us with your name and the email you used. With something this large, we expect a few tech glitches, but we'll get you sorted out.

What's next? The Depik supplement Rules of Negotiation will go out likely next weekend to all who backed high enough to receive the RoE PDF.

What about print? We're giving it a couple of weeks for any eagle eyes to spot any typos and similar errors that snuck through so we can fix those before going to print. Once we have an ETA on print copies, we'll let you know.

Meanwhile, grab your dice and power up your CASPer. It's go time!

December 2025 - Beta and Release 0.9 Coming
4 months ago – Tue, Dec 02, 2025 at 05:41:55 PM

Here's an update with some meat on it. This week we'll be sending a set of beta readers the beta copy of the PDF. Our goal is to then have the Release 0.9 PDF out to backers by Christmas. We'll allow a couple of weeks for feedback on any errors that snuck their way past three editors and the beta readers and make the fixes. Then we'll send out the Release 1.0 PDF.

Once that is finalized, we'll set up the print version, go through the physical proof process, and arrange the print run for physical backers. That timetable depends on the queue at the printer, but once they print the books we'll get them out along with physical rewards. During this time we'll also get together any supplemental e-materials, such as the Rules of Negotiation Depik supplement and some prefilled CASPer sheets.

It has been a long road, and we're looking forward to reaching our destination. We appreciate all of your patience on this long, bumpy journey.

October 2025 - Update
6 months ago – Wed, Oct 01, 2025 at 03:26:58 PM

It's coming together. The initial layout is done, and now we are doing the galley reviews and edits. Something we quickly learned was a change early in the document can cascade and move items throughout, so we are finalizing chapters one at a time front to back. We're looking for errors, alignments issues, and format consistency - and when there's tons of entries and tables, it means there's a ton to check and make sure we don't have either organic or electronic issues (like when InDesign decided to reformat a large percentage of the paragraphs in one chapter).

I'd love to say we'll have the PDF out at the end of the month, but I won't make any promises. As soon as the PDF is locked, we'll get it out and get the print process going.

The Four Horsemen for Earth!

August 2025

Is it done yet? Not quite. We are in the galley review process, where we identify layout issues and make the tweaks needed. The first section is the toughest, because once we find underlying issues such as artifacts created by importing the documents and fix those, those corrections propagate through the rest of the project.

I'd hope to have the PDF locked by now, but the other side of making changes early in the project is they can shift the whole rest of the book. Chapter One is the most header intensive, and Chapter Five has the most tables - two of our biggest culprits for fixes.

Hopefully the next update will have a firm(ish) date for locking the PDF, and we'll tackle the print end. Until then, keep your MACs hot and your Coca-Cola cold.
